Another weekend of the Balkan Snooker League has come to an end. This was the final round of the season before the Masters, which will take place in Istanbul from January 9th to 11th.
The TOP 12 players from the ranking list will compete for the prestigious title of Balkan Snooker League Champion. However, priority is given to the award for the player ranked first on the ranking list, considering that he managed to remain in that top position throughout the entire season.Once again, we would like to remind you that individual points will be doubled, which will make movement on the ranking table slightly easier and more dynamic.
Let us start with the most striking information — for the first time, a player from Turkey took part in the final match. This time, it was Melih Egemen, who made the biggest ranking leap within the BSL, making this final even more exciting.
There are also some unofficial titles that we award after each tournament, and this time the title for the most dramatic match goes to the semifinal between Dimitrije Stefanović and Melih Egemen, which ended in Melih’s favor.
It should be emphasized that this was Dimitrije’s second consecutive semifinal appearance, and this time he was even closer to reaching the final than the previous time. This represents an encouraging and optimistic trend in his game and results.
Champion Vasilije Pešić won the Balkan Snooker League A title for the eighth time and once again enters the Masters as the top-ranked player, defending his position. During the entire tournament, he suffered only one defeat in the group stage, losing 3:0 to Dimitrije Stefanović.
In addition to the champion’s trophy, he also took home the trophy for the highest break of the tournament with 72 points.Third place 🥉 was shared by Mario Željo Milošević 🇧🇦 and Dimitrije Stefanović 🇷🇸.
